Serbophobia… How Hollywood helps push propaganda!

19 Feb

The international media and large film production companies have been on an ANTI-SERB campaign for years. It is a totally one-sided smear campaign to help justify intervention in their affairs! This is one reason that Serbophobia is   thriving today. Here are a few Hollywood films from 1999-today that portray an anti-Serb slant…..

Diplomatic Siege (1999)

This is a film with Tom Berenger and Darryl Hannah. A nuclear bomb has been detected in the US embassy in Bucharest. It was placed their during the Cold War and they send in a team to deactivate it. The Serbian Liberation Front learns of it and storms the embassy taking 37 hostages! They demand the release of their leader who is being held in the International Criminal Court

Harrisons Flowers (2000)

A Newsweek journalist goes missing in war-torn Yugoslavia in 1991. His wife, Andie McDowell, goes to find him and encounters many difficulties in Vukovar.

 Behind Enemy Lines (2001)

Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson star in a movie about an American fighter pilot that is shot down over war-torn Bosnia and chased down by Serbs.

Extreme Ops (2002)

A film crew near the former Yugoslavia border are filming a ski party but don’t realize it is close to the hideout of a Serbian war criminal. They accidentally catch him on film and aare chased through the mountains by his protectors.

Sniper 2 (2003)

Tom Berenger plays a former Marine that is lured back in a top-secret mission to take out a Serb general who is committing atrocities on the local population.

Layer Cake (2004)

A successful cocaine dealer has one final mission by the mafia boss. He is to find a missing princess. A Serb portrays a criminal gangster. This one isn’t as bad but still portrays Serbs in a bad light.

Hunting Party (2007)

Richard Gere and Terrence Howard play a journalist and a cameraman that embark on an unauthorized mission to find the #1 most wanted Serbian war criminal that is hiding out in the Bosnian wilderness.

In The Land of Blood and Honey (2011)

This is the most recent film that was released in late 2011. It is directed by Angelina Jolie who has emerged as a strong critic of Serbian atrocities. This film is shot during the Bosnian war. Danijel, a soldier fighting for the Serbs, re-encounters Alija, a Bosnian who is being held captive in his camp. There are many graphic scenes of rape and abuse by Serbs.

Killing Season (scheduled release 2014)

This is a film set to be released in 2014. It stars Robert DeNiro… he plays a former American soldier that fought on the front lines in the Bosnian war. He has terrible memories of the atrocities he saw and moves to a secluded cabin in the Rocky mountains. John Travola plays a Serb soldier that is hell bent on revenge. He searches for DeNiro and finds him in the Rockies. They go on a long chase through the dense and rugged terrain trying to eliminate each other.

These are just sampling of what Hollywood can do. There are many instances of anti-serb propaganda in tv series but didn’t have time to list them. Remember that there is always two sides to every story!!! Don’t blindly follow one side!!! Open your eyes and get to know the WHOLE story!!! My next post will focus on all the atrocities, bigotry, genocide and ethnic cleansing  that the Serbian population has gone through from its beginning.

    Charles,

This is exactly example of how ‘public oppinion’ is formed! And all that, as You noted, just to be able to justify the actions another countries (US and rest of the ‘crew’) have taken against Serbian people. Behind all this sharade stands somebodies big financial gain. It’s not hard to see whose gains are we talking about. Never forget that’s blood-money!!!

Serbs are The most peaceful people of all on the Balkans. Yet, because others have attacked Serbs, they have been trying to protect themselves. Let’s see how many of Westerners will just lay down to be sloughtered like animals!? None! Therefore, PLEASE read and educate yourself BEFORE You take a stand against the whole nation.
    ANY NATION!!!

Charles, thanks again for exposing media ‘circus’.

    God bless.

Well, I don’t find this all that bad. I mean, the intention WAS to spit on Serbs, BUT…
I would rather make somebody run for a shelter when I say “I’m a Serb”, than have being asked “Wtf is a Serb?” :0)

And after all, the success of these movies shows perfectly how portraying of Serbs as the bad guys is believable to the audience…

This De Niro/Travolta movie, however, looks promising :0) :0)

I just can’t be offended by bad movie makers. They don’t deserve anyone’s deep emotions…

I think Serbs already know these things, since we are Serbs. Of course you discovered this recently which is not surprising because you have only been in Serbia for a short time.
Your list is not complete however, a movie called ” The hunted ” with Tommy Lee Jones, The Rock with Nicolas Cage, just to name a few more because there are so many.
America promotes this around the world as justification for the illegal bombing of Serbia, which violated US law, International law, UN charter,NATO`s charter, and the Geneva convention.
Bill Clinton is a war criminal and belongs in the ICTY.

The bombing of Serbia was absolutely disgusting. Cluster bombs killing civilians. Targeting civilian buildings.Children maimed, etc. All those involved disgust me.

I also wanted to mention ”Peacemaker”, and to say that G. Clooney recently gave an interview that he thinks it is unfair what is happening to Serbia and Serbs, that he wanted somehow to help us. Interview was on our national television.

I think that American movies with these kind of themes weren’t made to hurt us, but because the story itself, in order to attract people to watch it. The same thing is with Russian terrorists in the movies.

Of course, we all get nervous when we see something like that. We shouldn’t be angry at directors or producers, we should be angry at the ignorance that they have, and what comes from the presentation of Serbia in USA…

If G. Clooney really wanted to “help us” he would find the way (like cather76 did)…

“American movies with these kind of themes weren’t made to hurt us”
You go into the absurde extremes by justifying them…Makes me wonder how intelegent people like you can sound retarded in the same time…
There is no dignity and self respect in your comment (if you are really Serb).
BTW I don’t get “nervous” on the BIASed anti-Serb propaganda, but the wound is simply added to the insult (for what they did to us) on top of evrything!

      Thaks for everything cather76!

James Harff, director of Ruder Finn’s Global Public Affairs section,
boasted about his success against Serbia.“Nobody understood what was going on in (former) Yugoslavia,” he said in an October 1993 interview.

“The great majority of Americans were probably asking themselves in which African country Bosnia was situated.””Our work is not to verify information,” said Harff. “We are not equipped for that. Our work is to accelerate the circulation of information favorable to us, to aim at judiciously chosen targets. We did not confirm the existence of death camps in Bosnia, we just made it widely known that Newsday affirmed it. … We are professionals. We had a job to do and we did it. We are not paid to moralize.”

Its a shame that by defending our country we are called terrorists! Of course Hollywood belonging to the ZIONISTS and being funded by the Greater Israel the Poor American Actors have no idea as they are ignorant from history and politics as their history is only 200 yrs. As for Jollie she is a Zionist since she was born so what did you expect from her! She even visited the rats in Libya! Serbia is a proud Country I am sure with all of our support you will stand up again!

    Few words about Orthodox Church
If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex-monk of the Catholic Church, in the year 1517. If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to re-marry. If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in the year 1560. If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582. If you are Protestant Episcopalian, your religion was an offshoot of the Church of England, founded by Samuel Senbury in the American colonies in the 17th century. If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1606. If you are of the Dutch Reformed Church, you recognize Michelis Jones as founder because he originated your religion in New York in 1628. If you are a Methodist, your religion was founded by John and Charles Wesley in England in 1774. If you are a Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, New York, in 1829. If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865. If you are Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mary Baker Eddy as its founder.

If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as “Church of the Nazarene, Pentecostal Gospel,” “Holiness Church,” or “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” your religion is one of the hundreds of new sects founded by men within the past hundred years.

If you are Roman Catholic, your church shared the same rich apostolic and doctrinal heritage as the Orthodox Church for the first thousand years of its history, since during the first millennium they were one and the same Church. Lamentably, in 1054, the Pope of Rome broke away from the other four Apostolic Patriarchates (which include Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem), by tampering with the Original Creed of the Church, and considering himself to be infallible. Thus your church is 1,000 years old.

If you are Orthodox Christian, your religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It has not changed since that time. Our church is now almost 2,000 years old. And it is for this reason, that Orthodoxy, the Church of the Apostles and the Fathers is considered the true “one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.” This is the greatest legacy that we can pass on to the young people of the new millennium.

finally someone has done the research. i am american born and my “religion” is the one mentioned in the last paragraph founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. i dont go to “state” sanctioned churches. just remember…people are “groomed” to believe whatever the groomer wants them to believe. dont take it out on or blame all Americans because of what the “groomers” have done. the best thing is to educate people and about truth and above all-no violence from anyone. it doesnt do any good and only caused pain and misery. ALL of us need to follow the Royal Law Jesus gave us- “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

What nobody seems to notice is how often Serbs are portrayed as violent, bent on revenge, chasing down the good guy — usually an American — and yet in real life there haven’t been any Serb attacks, Serb guerillas, etc. The Serbs are carrying on. Meanwhile, the so-called ‘good guys’ in the Yugoslav civil wars — you know who they are!!! — are shooting Americans, doing sniper action, blah blah blah. No movies about THEM though. Amazing.

This is why I can no longer watch nor support most Hollywierd films. There are very few American movies that I can still watch without feeling irritated, and unfortunately this includes many movies that I once enjoyed seeing when I was younger. Even Disney films today are designed as propaganda to manipulated the minds of children, lol. Nearly all filtered western media features some sort of subversive ulterior motive to push upon the viewers.

Is the movie ‘Whistleblower’ anti-Serb? I haven’t seen it, but I have heard it is about an American woman in post-war Sarajevo who exposes some kind of prostitution ring…

    • Suzana

      June 13, 2012 at 2:19 am

      Milice,

“Whistleblower” talks about (so-called) Peace-keepers who orginize a prostitution ring. These Peace-keepers take women from ex-Yu (regardless of nationality) and exploit them. Rachel Weisz’s caracter in the movie exposses the “Peace-keepers Pimps”.
Basically, this movie sheds light on the dark side of “Peace-keepers”.

Pathetic story lines, portraying the Serbs as baddies, especially when these movies could have easily been about Muslims, Croats or Kosovan Albanians, who have themselves slaughtered tens of thousands. Behind enemy lines and the mass graves; we can’t forget Srebrenica as it is so prominent in Western mainstream media. Srebrenica was waiting to happen. Why? Three and an half thousand Christians who lived in the surrounding villages, men, women and children were slaughtered in the most barbaric ways. Shocking how this fact isn’t as well publicised. Anti-Serb propaganda is rife. The UNPROFOR commander, French General Philippe Morillon, testified that the crimes committed by Bosnian Muslim forces were “extraordinary” and made the Serbs’ desire for revenge to be “inevitable.” Also the testimonies presented at The Hague by British army personnel, reporters, Kosovan Albanians themselves and other non serbs sheds light on the lies and murderous actions of the terrorist KLA to get NATO to bomb Serbia and ethnically cleanse Kosovo of Serbs. I could go on. Thanks for this article.

Its always nice to see that there are still open minded people in the world ready to educate themselves and learn the truth. Despite the fact that information is available all around people stay willfully ignorant and leave everything as it is just pointing fingers. I myself am a Serbian but as we can all see what foreign policy is doing to us we also should realize what domestic policy does and how we are allowing the situation in Serbia to go from bad to worse. People are getting depressed and a large number of us are lazy as can be while the government is literally forbidding normal people to make a decent living and creating imaginary jobs like the Kominalna policija and so on . For us as a nation to flourish we need to man up and put in some hard work but also use the same bravery and spite on domestic oppression that we use for foreign one. You have to realize that we are silent, no one is willing to protest or fight to make a difference, we are allowing puppet politicians to pollute the state and destroy the best of us. There is a very wise man called Ron Paul that should have won the elections in USA but we all knew that would never happen and he explained the government problem from the core – starting from the word GOVERN. Bottom line is stay wise, expand your knowledge and horizons, help others regardless of nationality, color, income or what have you and people will start to improve. Realize that you having an iphone but not having food on your table is stupid, that products are based on desire and not need and people are becoming prisoners of things they don’t need, working all days and not socializing at all.
Seems now’a’days the best messages can be found in older wise comedians so if you are bored check out Geroge Carlin, Lewis Black, Bill Hicks for fun and real news watch Last week Tonight with john oliver and lets say Jon Stewart.
Remember religions or color does not make a man, actions do.
Lets build up Serbia little by little then help who ever might need it and make yourself the best you can be
